This site is provided by the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command , as part of their Zeus's Web program.

It includes an extensive list of excellent LESSON PLANS for teachers who want to provide "hands-on" exercises for their students to help them understand and appreciate the science of meteorology.

Meteorology, Teaching (IV)


The DataStreme Project:

DataStreme is a teacher enhancement program of the American Meteorological Society and supported by the National Science Foundation. Its main goal is the training of resource teachers who will promote the teaching of weather across the K-12 curriculum in their home school districts.

Another goal is to upgrade scientific literacy by motivating teachers and through them, their students, to develop and nurture active interests in science, mathematics and technology. After proper registration, a 13-week course is offered twice a year to selected participants.

The DataStreme Project is supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation.
