Weather History for November 9 On this date in 1998, an F1 tornado occurred near Purcell, in McClain County. The tornado began about 2 miles southwest of Purcell, and ended 1 mile east-southeast of town. Most of the damage was to trees and roofs. There were no injuries reported.
